The traditionally pieced blocks are made with squares and rectangles, so no y-seams.  Block centers are made with optional easy 4-patch kaleidoscopes from a large feature print.  You may use the feature fabric remainder for a wide border or use this for a portion of the backing and use a different border fabric.
