DIY is inspired by long hours spent crafting as a child. Discovering the wonders of a sewing machine and trawling through the many coloured threads. The possibilities of what to make are exciting and endless. Stationery and tools are playfully spread across the table in the middle of a productive afternoon. DIY captures the feelings of creative delight of time spent making.
Amy Van Luijk is a New Zealand based illustrator and designer. Amy creates bold and vibrant illustrations using simple shapes and colours. Objects and landscapes are pared back to the essentials, using hand cut paper and small touches of detail to create work which is lively and full of character. Inspired by the straight shapes and lines in urban spaces as well as more organic forms in nature.
