Christmas Stockings for Charity
Donate your time to help us to sew and fill Christmas stockings for DASO (Domestic Abuse Services Oxford).
Stocking kits will be provided by K&A Quilt Studio. Just bring your sewing machine, basic tools and notions, etc.
Lunch will be supplied; snacks and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
Donated items to help fill these stockings (for both adults and children) would also be much appreciated. Information about specific items being requested will be published soon.
Cost to participate is $10, but we will gift you with a $10 coupon for In-Store shopping in appreciation of your interest in this worthwhile effort.
The DASO Story
The Women's Emergency Centre - Oxford was one of the first five shelters for abused women and their children in Canada. The development of a safe place for a woman to go with her children when she wished to remove herself from a situation of physical danger was part of a change in the collective conscience.
By 2011 the agency had changed its name to Domestic Abuse Services Oxford to reflect the expanded scope of services offered and to underscore the agency's status as a community leader and a vital resource for domestic abuse issues in the county.
